Ayaz Arabaçı

Ayaz Arabaçı is an Azerbaijani poet and novelist. His first novel in English is Remember Me as Summer, an edition that also includes two stories.

He was born in Arabaçı village in the Gədəbəy region of Azerbaijan. His father was a literature teacher and his mother a librarian. He studied physics and informatics, a background he discussed in his 2016 interview with Ayxan Ayvaz for Kulis.

Where writing happens

In his preface, Arabaçı describes writing on metro trains, buses and trains, and on park benches. Prose, for him, continues where a few lines of poetry can no longer hold the experience.

In the same preface, he writes about memory and about noticing an unseen life in ordinary things.
